Medic First Aid : Pediatric CPR/First Aid

This class is open to the public, and can also be scheduled at your location.

This course covers the following for infants, children, and adults:

• The circles of care concept
• Introduction to initial assessment
• SETUP (scene assessment)
• Assessing responsiveness
• Activating EMS
• Assessing airway, breathing, and circulation
• Clearing and protecting the airway
• Ventilations
• Chest compressions
• One-rescuer CPR
• Chain of survival
• Control of bleeding
• Managing Shock
• Ongoing assessment
• Warning signs of illness
• Mechanism of injury
• Emergency moves
• Emotional impact of providing first aid care

Each individual will receive a two year certification. This course meets California EMSA childcare provider requirements, teacher credentialing and foster/adoptive parent regulations.

An AED component can be added to this class.
